Incubus- Love Hurts

The message of this song is embodied in its title. It bears a theme that most are all too familiar with. It expresses the idea that although love can be one of the most agonizing experiences of one’s life; the pain we experience through love only further reinforces the significance of just how privileged we are to be able to love at all.

Boyd has one of the most serene and melodic voices I’ve ever heard.  G/B should cover this song bc Matt’s voice shares the same qualities. As calm as his voice is, it still maintains an extremely powerful and heartfelt presence or to simplify it, it’s “fucking ridiculous”. 

#13 Cold Play – Sparks

This song is not only of personal preference but the band itself is favored by one of the most important people in my life; my sister. Every time I hear anything of theirs, I am overwhelmed with such a profound sense of appreciation for having her in my life. Good friends are “twelve for ten cents” but great friends are especially hard to come by. Thank you for always being worth more than a dime and G/B, thank you for allowing me to discover your talent.

You know you’re seriously talented when your music has the ability to soften the heart of a true Exploited fan. Thank you for making my boyfriend less of a hard-ass today. It’s a nice change.

#17 Phantom Planet’s- California or The Guest

I remember when this song came out it was one of my favorites at the time. The second you hear the first few piano notes it’s love. Besides, with a good song, a smooth voice and at least one classical instrument how can you go wrong

They have an interesting style of music mostly rock infulenced but they also have a more mellow side. I love their music bc they actually seek to convey a message on an emotional level rather than singing about crap like partying and broads.

This is a sweet song and they have a really relaxed mood. I can definitely see Green or Blue covering this and I actually  think they could improve it. Matt’s voice is incredibly beautiful. I’d like to see what they could do musically too. I’m sure the guys know of a least a few talented females that could lend their vocals for Romy’s part.

 They’ve been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid. Mainly for 16stone and Razorblade.I think most people can relate to this song and that’s usually the reason why people fall in love with music to begin with
